Q2 Is Almost Over — Time For A Check Up

June 21, 2011

As I’ve written before, it’s important for portfolio companies to set annual strategic SMART goals in their 2011 planning sessions.

Q1 has been over for a while, and Q2 will shortly be in the rear view mirror. At OpenView Venture Partners, now is the time we encourage our CEOs to sit down with their management teams and review how each organization is doing in support of the company’s annual strategic SMART goals that were set at the beginning of the year. I actually hold operational reviews with each portfolio CEO and management team the day before the board meeting because I consider this to be that important to the success of the business.

You can read about my thoughts on what you should be doing in my previous blog post titled “Q1 Is Over… Time For A Check Up”, since it is the same process.

Top founders — that is, CEOs and management teams — do this religiously as part of their management rhythms …  hopefully you are also!

All the best!
